Antimension (Antimins)

The antimension is a consecrated cloth placed on the altar and unfolded for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy. It ordinarily depicts Christ’s burial, contains relics of a martyr, and bears the signature of the bishop under whose authority the priest serves.
