Mother of God (Theotokos)

The Mother of God is the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. The title Theotokos means “God-bearer” or “the one who gave birth to God” and affirms that Jesus Christ is one Person who is truly God and truly human; it does not mean that Mary is the origin of His divine nature.
