Pre-Order Kairos: Orthodox History Game

Kairos is a game where players take turns adding events from Church history to their growing timelines. THIS IS A PRE-ORDER. The game is in the final stages of production but we hope to be mailing them out by late October. THE PRE-ORDER PRICE WILL ONLY LAST UNTIL AUGUST 31, after that the price will increase to $35. How to play? The deck has approximately 200 cards. Each card has both an historical event in the life of the church and the year it occur. Each player begins with one card in front of them face up, showing both the event and the year. Play begins when one player draws a new card and reads the historical event to the person on the right. The player then decides where in the timeline the event fits. If he is correct, then he adds the card to his timeline, if he is incorrect them the next player may attempt to answer. Players do not need to know exactly what year the event happened, only where it fits in their timeline. Sound easy? The more events added to your timeline, the more difficult the game becomes. Typically, the game ends when one player reaches 10 cards in their timeline, but this can be reduced or exceeded to make the game easier or more difficult. Will this really teach us about Church history? Yes! We have included both typical dates that most people will know, but also lesser known events to keep the game interesting. Not only will you be exposed to new saints and miracles, you will be able to see where they fit in history in relation to other major historical events from different parts of the world. Our hope is that it spurs great discussion in your family or group or inspires you to go learn more about an event. We have included saints from the time of Christ to the present day. We hope to add a second volume next year, God willing. What does Kairos mean? Kairos is a beautiful Greek word with a couple of meanings, but here we are referring to the moments in time when the Timeless One acted.... "It is time for the Lord to act..." It is our prayer that this game will encourage families and friends to dive into the history of our Orthodox Church, while building memories and inspiring each other to go deeper.
