This sacred burial shroud is adorned with holy iconography of the Crucifixion, the Resurrection, and the Myrrh-Bearing Women at the Empty Tomb. Along its length are inscribed prayers from the Orthodox funeral service — words the Church has spoken for centuries over the faithful who have fallen asleep in the Lord: Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. That the Lord God will establish thy soul where the just repose. Give rest, O Lord, to the soul of Thy servant who is fallen asleep. For Thou art the Resurrection, and the Life, and the Repose of Thy servant. Each shroud and chaplet has been designed with reverence and care, under the guidance of our parish priest, in keeping with Orthodox tradition.
